I published some selected, excellent poems on the Holocaust that we did in class to showcase on the class blog; one student really wanted me to share hers. She liked the ability for others outside of school to be able to see her writing. I was proud that she wanted to share her writing, as it shows a great deal of self-pride in her work. So, please comment and read Tayler's Holocaust P.O.V poem!
Holocaust
The trees once green
The sky once blue
Streets filled with joy
Homes filled with food
Childhood so memorable
Adulthood so sweet
A normal life is what it used to be
A world I once knew gone in defeat
I lie here dreaming
Dreaming of the days so rare
The love I once had
Now filled with despair
The trees are dark
The sky a void
My hunger lingers
For food is so scarce
My dying body
A plague to those
Those who filled me with fear
But I know my end is near
