Most Thursdays, students do center work with a focus on three interchangeable centers that rotate approximately every 13 minutes: writing center, reading center and grammar center. Each center focuses on learning taught throughout the week and has students apply learning in each of the three domains. Each week, students choose their groups and their starting centers and collaborate with their group members in order to complete their work. When students are on-task and working hard, I usually play music while they work and the time seems to fly by! Great kids that do great work!! Center expectations and directions are posted on the unit page and are a great resource when a student misses class on Thursday.
