Students are using their inferencing skills to make a Facebook page for a Hero of their choosing by using class technologies to complete the assignment. Students were sent the electronic template through their Edmodo. They downloaded the template and edited it in Word and will print and then upload and submit an electronic copy as they 'turn in' their assignment in Edmodo. Student autonomy is important in the completion of this assignment, as students must incorporate decision making skills, inference skills, time management, prioritizing and ownership in order to complete the outlined requirements. Students were given rubrics and a tip sheet before starting their assignment. Inference is a higher order thinking skill that is tested in multiple ways throughout their state assessment and the incorporation of technology and use of a 'social media-like' template encourages student interest.

Eighth graders at Blakemore Middle School are working hard. I can't wait until everyone is done with their Facebook Hero pages.
